Katie at Monifieth

DSC_4672, originally uploaded by HenrysCat.

Well the wife is ill so I grabbed Sarah and the bairn for a twilight shoot. We ended up in Monifieth and it got dark pretty quick. Unfortunately the stunning sunset over the ocean that I had hoped for didn't come about. Instead we ended up at Macdonalds for a healthy dinner or burgers and chips. Everything in moderation after all...

Oh and the wedding album came back from Sim2000 and although I haven't seen it myself, the couple let me know that they think it is "fantastic". Result!

Leuchars Airshow 2009

DSC_4021, originally uploaded by HenrysCat.

So Adam and I decided to attend the airshow this year and got burnt to a crisp - who woulda thought the sun would shine at Leuchars???
Anyway, it was a grand day out even though the chinook never got off the ground. The Red Arrows stole the show (don't they always) and everything after their performance seemed lacklustre and ordinary.
Won't be back next year unless they get an Apache...

The Wedding

DSC_3130, originally uploaded by HenrysCat.

So the ex-boss's sons wedding went really well. Sarah and I shot it as dual photographers and the results were spot on. Ceremony shots from the front AND back of the couple - there's something you don't see every day...
Anyway the couple seem to be absolutely delighted with the end product and we are awaiting the album coming back from the printers. It's one of these table-album things and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it comes out!

Killin Infrared

DSC_4003, originally uploaded by HenrysCat.

I returned to Killin on Thursday and attempted some infrared shots. The D200 seems to detest the idea but I fought through and came out with a couple of good shots. Sarah's D40 handles it soooo much better...

Not posted a blog for a while here but I'm not actually convinced that anyone except me comes here. Which kinda means I am talking to myself... and nobody's home!

It's Dark, and we're wearing sunglasses

So the stag-do went really well. St Johnstone won some kind of cup and there was a pitch invasion by the fans. Peachy!

To combat my off-camera flash problem I decided to invest a massive £20 in some equipment that attaches to the hotshoe and the flashgun to wirelessly trigger the thing. For the price it's pretty awesome - the 'real' ones are £300 as they incorporate the TTL metering from the lens. What use that is if the flash aint anywhere near the lens is beyond me.

Got my ex-bosses, son's wedding coming up soon and I am meeting the couple on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

Blues Brothers

DSC_0576, originally uploaded by HenrysCat.

Rather conveniently, we went to see the blues band "Radiotones" play at the Twa Tams last night. Tomorrow we are on a stag-do which has a Blues Brothers theme - scary huh?

This shot was taken with off camera flash. The D200 uses it's built-in flash to remotely trigger the SB800 flashgun, allowing you to get some funky lighting effects,

Unfortunately the on-board flash has an awful habit of lighting up the scene as well, so a hand over the camera flash is needed. I'm looking into some kind of remote trigger to go on the hotshoe instead,

Tablet nonsense

kat, originally uploaded by HenrysCat.

Well I promised some tablet nonsense - and here it is!

Just starting to get the hang of it now but I'm up to my neck in other projects at the moment. Couple of websites on the go and now I've found somewhere to permanently display my work. Whether the cost will ever be returned... I'm not convinced.
